Lynn Bassini OTR/L CHT
Originally from Guatemala City, Lynn graduated from University of Pennsylvania in 1977 with a BS in Occupational Therapy and in 1982 a Masters in Biomechanics and Ergonomics from New York University. She has been a hand therapist since the foundation of the American Society of Hand Therapists in 1977. From 1979 to 1982 she was a therapist and chief at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. In 1991 Lynn passed the first certification in hand therapy ever offered and later became an item writer for the Hand Certification Exam.
Lynn has been in private practice for over 44 years, specializing in both adult and pediatric patients with upper extremity injuries and challenges. She has presented at many conferences and published several research papers and book chapter co-authored with a hand surgeon. In 1998 she became the recipient of the Vargas Award and traveled with Dr. Alan Freeland to Venezuela. In 2001 she was asked to serve a three year term in the Board of the AAHS and in 2004 organized and led the Vargas mission to Guatemala. Lynn was awarded the 2006 Paul Brand Award and the American Association for Hand Surgery Humanitarian Award in 2016.
In 2004 Lynn founded The Guatemala Healing Hands Foundation (GHHF/Guatemalahands.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality and availability of health care in Guatemala through education, hand surgery, hand therapy and community assistance. We have completed 13 missions and planning our next mission tentative Nov 2022.
Lynn is currently working for New York Hand Therapy remotely since June 2021 when she relocated to Los Angeles. She also works part time for Select Physical Therapy in California.
Lynn continues to be very involved in patient care and clinical supervision in the world of hand surgery and hand therapy.
Rosemary Tedesco, OTR/L CHT
Rosemary has been an Occupational Therapist for 24 years and a Certified Hand Therapist since 2007. She received her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from New York University in 1998 and has been working in an outpatient hand therapy setting part-time since then.
Rosemary’s interest in Hand Therapy began before applying to the OT Master’s Program as a volunteer in the Outpatient Clinic of Lutheran Hospital, now part of NYU Langone. As an OT student at NYU in her first year she was given the fortunate opportunity to do a Level I Fieldwork with Lynn Bassini. Following graduation and volunteer hours at Lynn’s office, she was hired as part of Lynn’s Hand Therapy team.
She approaches patient care with a focus on returning patients back to their valued activities while providing a supportive environment based on their individual needs.
Rosemary also has extensive experience in Pediatrics and works with children with special needs in the NYC Department of Education. Rosemary is a runner who has one NYC Marathon under her belt and understands the importance of physical fitness and participation in leisure activities.
Kyu Chul Lee, OTR/L, CHT
Kyu Chul is a licensed occupational therapist and certified hand therapist. Kyu Chul graduated from Yonsei University, South Korea in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy. While working as a Staff Occupational Therapist for 2 years at Asan Medical Center, South Korea's top hospital, Kyu Chul routinely assessed and treated various acute and post-operative conditions, including orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, and a high percentage of severe trauma. Kyu Chul moved to New York City and completed his master’s degree at New York University in Advanced Occupational Therapy in 2017. When he was a graduate student, he fell in love with hand therapy in his volunteer work at Bellevue Hospital's occupational therapy department. Kyu Chul decided to pursue his career as a hand therapy specialist and started his work as an occupational therapist in the US and obtained his CHT (Certified Hand Therapist) certification from HTCC in 2020. He started working at New York Hand Therapy in 2020 and is grateful to be a part of the team. Kyu Chul’s clinical interests include post-operative rehabilitation of the upper extremity, trauma, tendon and nerve injury, fractures, and custom orthosis fabrication. He is passionate about learning the latest therapy trend to provide the best possible treatment for all patients.
Kyu Chul is very dedicated to his family and loves spending time with them. Kyu Chul speaks English and Korean, and he also loves playing drums and guitar.
Moussia Krinsky-Raskin OTR/L, CHT
Moussia graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical Center with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2014. She earned the distinction of Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) in 2021. She specializes in treating orthopedic and soft tissue injuries of the upper extremity and is well trained in the fabrication of custom orthoses of the elbow, wrist and hand.
As an OT, Moussia prides herself on designing therapeutic activities and home exercise programs that are functional and client centered. Moussia is a member of the Lubavitch Hasidic community of Crown Heights and speaks Hebrew and Yiddish. In her spare time, Moussia enjoys practicing Pilates and is an avid baker. You can often find her riding along PPW on her bright blue bike.
